IL PROGETTO
Il MURo Museo di Urban Art di Roma è stato fondato nel 2010 dall'artista David Diavù
Vecchiato ed è un progetto di museo all’aperto di Urban Art, pubblico e
gratuito, sui muri e nelle strade di Roma. E' il primo progetto in città
di museo completamente integrato nel tessuto sociale, come la forma d'arte che
segue, promuove e produce: la Street Art.
Il MURo è un progetto site-specific, ovvero è ideato per far
relazionare gli artisti con la conformazione e la storia dei luoghi di
convivenza sociale dove realizzano le proprie opere.
Il MURo è inoltre un
progetto community-specific,
ovvero mira a percepire e rispettare lo "spirito dei luoghi" in cui
interviene ed è condiviso coi cittadini, si confronta con le loro idee e
le loro storie (soprattutto con coloro che vivono o frequentano le aree
interessate dalle opere).
La collezione di opere di
Street Art, principalmente murales, appartiene alla comunità ed attualmente
comprende 21 lavori realizzati nel V Municipio da importanti firme dell'Arte
Contemporanea di tutto il mondo.
LA MOSTRA
Le opere
realizzate durante il MURo DAY del
21 giugno 2014 nella splendida cornice dei due acquedotti romani che circondano
il cortile del 692 di Roma, vanno ora in mostra all'Hangar Tattoo Studio e Art Gallery di Cecilia Agostini a San
Lorenzo, Roma.
16 opere uniche in
vendita a costi ridottissimi proprio per supportare il progetto no-profit di
arte pubblica che MURo Museo di Urban Art di Roma sta portando avanti da 4 anni
nella Capitale.

THE PROJECT
MURo - Museum of Urban Art in Rome, founded in 2010
by artist David Diavù Vecchiato, is an outdoor museum of Urban Art, public and
free, on the walls and in the streets of the city.
It is the first project of its kind in Rome, a
museum completely integrated in the social fabric of the city, like the art
form that it does look after, promote and produce: Street Art.
MURo (the acronym means 'wall' in italian) is a
site-specific project, i.e. it is conceived in order to let artists relate to
the shape and history of the places where they set their artworks.
MURo is also a community-specific project, in the
sense that it aims at perceiving and respecting the spirit of the places where
it intervenes and it is also shared with their inhabitants, relating with their
ideas and stories.
The collection of street artworks, most of all
graffiti, belongs to the community as a whole and at present is made up of 21
artworks by prominent contemporary artists from all over the world, all located
in the V Municipio (administrative district of the city of Rome).
THE EXHIBITION
The artworks realized during MURo DAY on June 21st
2014 in the garden of 692 in Rome are now being displayed at Hangar Tattoo
Studio and Art Gallery owned by Cecilia Agostini in San Lorenzo, Rome.
16 unique artworks are on sale at really affordable
prices to support the non-profit public art project that MURo - Museum of Urban
Art in Rome has been promoting in the last 4 years.
